Dr Oz: Kathy Freston’s 10 Minute Beauty Plan
Are you looking for a quick and easy beauty plan that will make you look 10 years younger? Dr Oz was joined by Health Activist, Kathy Freston, to give you the ultimate 10-minute beauty plan to make you look a decade younger. The best part is that you can do it at home. Dr Oz and Kathy Freston spoke about a Strawberry Teeth Whitening Paste as part of the 10 minute beauty plan.
Jody, an audience member, didn’t want to go the plastic surgery route when it came to looking younger. She (like many others) preferred more natural methods to knock off the years. Currently, her beauty plan consisted of time consuming and expensive methods.
Dr Oz: Rice Powder Mask
You can either buy this product in stores or you can make your own paste at home. To make at home, simply mix 6 Tbsp of rice flour and 5 Tbsp of soymilk. Create a paste and then slather all over your face. Leave on for 20 minutes. If you have oily skin, the scrub will absorb oil. If you have dry skin, the scrub will moisturize the skin. When you wash off, scrub in a circular motion to exfoliate. Do the mask once or twice a week.
Dr Oz: Strawberry Paste for Whiter Teeth
You can avoid the chemicals in tooth whiteners by simply making a homemade paste from natural ingredients. Take 3 ripe strawberries and mix with 1 tsp baking soda to make a paste. Paint or brush onto the teeth. Rinse out. Do this once every 4 months for a cleaner, brighter smile. Dr Oz spoke about a similar Teeth Whitening Remedy on a previous show as well!

CDB is one of Kathy Freston’s “favorite makeup lines”, probably becuase all of the products are cruelty free, organic-based and all natural. One of the best products in the line (according to Vegan Kathy Freston) to make you look 10 years younger is the bronzer. To use, simply brush the bronzer onto the cheeks. Veganism can be incorporated into the makeup world too. Just ask Christopher Drummond a celebrity makeup artist who has worked with stars such as Kimora Lee Simmons, Brooke Shields, Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, Glenn Close, Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, to name a few. Christopher gives us the inside scoop on how to get the look.

As one may expect, spring is going to bring about color (as it always does), both in bold and pastel colors. Here are some of the makeup trends for spring 2012, straight from Fashion Week, by Christopher Drummond, Celebrity Pro Makeup Artist
1. Eyebrows/eyeliner — Brows are large and in charge this season, brushed up and bushy, well groomed or even lightened, but they are a detail that has not been ignored. At Altuzarra, Tom Pecheux blackened the brows using brow pencils and black eye shadow…but don’t try this at home! For eyeliner, Christopher suggests a soft smokey look. ”By rimming the outer corners of the eye, and not the whole eye, you get a really fresh, new look!”
GET THE LOOK: It’s always best to alter your daytime look, so it’s more realistic. Take a light brown pencil (www.christopherdrummond.com) and use that on your brows, instead of black. Use the same pencil as an eyeliner.
2. Healthy Skin — A look for ethnic women is very hydrated and healthy-looking skin that is perfected with the new SkinPrep by CDB. Makeup Primer for Sensitive Skin: SkinPrep by Christopher Drummond Beauty
Q: I have very sensitive skin, and find that most MAKEUP PRIMERS irritate my skin. What is your advice on how to prepare my eczema skin for makeup application?
A: Advice from Christopher Drummond, celebrity makeup artist and licensed skin technician:
*sensitive skin should definitely avoid harsh chemicals that are found in traditional cosmetics.
*generally products that are more natural based and that have soothing botanicals are better for skin types that are irritated easily.
*The main cause of irritated skin are harsh chemicals. These synthetic ingredients can cause redness, itching and skin inflammation.
*”You get what you pay for!!!” if you use inexpensive brands from the drug store, chances are they are more likely to irritate the skin.
*To prep your skin use cream or milky cleansers. These are less stripping to the skin, and leave the skin more hydrated and less irritated (they also clean just as well as foaming cleansers)
